Redcar is on the northern edge of the Yorkshire coast just to the East of Middlesbrough and on the western verge of some of the nicest coastal scenery in the North East of England.
A Branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) affiliated to a local Dive School ( Battye about Diving). We are a small but friendly club, boat diving is usually carried out from the RIB owned by 'Battye about Diving'. In addition 'Battye about Diving' also regularly run trips to the Farne Islands (including using larger boats crewed by local skippers). We also are fortunate in having a new MCA registered commercial RIB running out of the South Gare Slipway in Redcar (behind the Blast Furnace for those with some local knowledge). This boat (a 6.5 metre RIB called 'K2') is run by 'Saltburn Scuba' and ably skippered by Kevin Boland (a skipper with many years experience running dive boats on the South Coast).
We dive virtually every Sunday year round either in the North Sea or inland at Ellerton Park near Scorton (just outside Catterick). Training consists of lectures (currently at 'Battye About Diving'), pool training (in a local school pool) and open water sessions.
Socially (weekly), Diving (whenever weather permits), Training (any time).
